We Provide Community-Based Training for Healthcare Professionals

Dental Hygiene Program

Dental hygiene students from Weber State University participate in community-based training through clinical rotations at Midtown Community Health Center’s dental clinic in Ogden. Our clinic provides a full range of onsite dental health services including same-day lab and crown services. Please contact Weber State University’s Department of Dental Hygiene directly for more information on this educational program. Please contact Midtown if you would like to make an appointment for hygiene services: 801-393-5355.

Family Practice Residency Program

Midtown sponsors a satellite residency program through McKay Dee Hospital’s Porter Family Practice Residency Program. Family practice residents receive training in prenatal care and comprehensive primary medical care. Several residents trained at our facilities and are now employed by Midtown Community Health Center, including Dr. Kurt Rifleman, Dr. Mark Housley, Dr. Kyle Christensen, and Dr. Scott Larsen.

Clinical Rotations for Physician Assistants and Nurse Practitioners

Midtown Community Health Center offers clinical rotation opportunities for eligible healthcare students. This opportunity provides hands-on experience in compassionate, patient-centered primary care working alongside family practice and pediatric providers, nurse practitioners, and physician assistants. All clinical rotation requests require submission of the designated request form, available at Clinical Rotation Request Form, and are reviewed based on clinician availability. Please allow a minimum of two weeks for processing. Students must have completed at least one prior clinical rotation, be proficient in both English and Spanish, and be up to date on vaccinations. Rotations are not available with MD physicians as they oversee resident training. The student’s school is responsible for initiating and submitting an Affiliation Agreement for review and signature if one is not already in place.
